Children's Privacy Notice

Parents are in charge

• Only adults (18+) who are a child's parent or legal guardian can create an account.
• Children never create accounts, log in, or give us information directly.
• Everything we know about a child comes from their parent or guardian, who chooses what to share.
• The parent is our customer. Stories, emails and texts are sent to the parent, who reads each one first and reads the story aloud.
• A parent may invite one other adult, such as a co-parent, grandparent or babysitter, to receive the stories too. The invited adult confirms by email first, sees only the children's first names and the stories, and can stop at any time. Invitations are for adults only, never a child.
• Please don't share your login with a child or let a child use your account. See our Terms.

Our "Sova Support" help chat is for parents and other adults. If it looks like a child is typing, the chat ends and the conversation is deleted right away, so we don't keep anything a child entered. If we learn in any other way that a child has given us information, we delete it.

What we collect about children

Only what a parent chooses to add to a child profile to personalize stories, such as a first name or nickname, age (and, if you choose, a birthday month so the age updates by itself), pets, family and friends, interests, comfort objects, emotional needs, and topics to avoid. We don't ask for last names, photos, school names, addresses or precise locations, and we ask parents not to add them.

How we use it

We use a child's profile only to write and deliver that family's bedtime stories, and to help the parent when they ask our support assistant about their own account (it sees first names, ages and interests, never notes about emotional needs or topics to avoid). We don't use children's information for advertising or marketing, we don't sell it, and we don't build profiles about children for any other purpose.

To write each story, we send the needed profile details to our AI story provider, which does not use that information to train its AI models.

How long we keep it

We keep a child's profile and stories only while the family's subscription or free trial is active. If a family cancels, or a trial ends without subscribing, we automatically delete every child profile and story 90 days after stories stop. Support chats are deleted after 12 months, and any chat where a child seems to be typing is deleted right away.

Delete your child's information at any time

You can also edit a child's profile at any time to change or remove any detail.
