Sova Stories
Accessibility
Last updated October 19, 2026
Every family deserves easier bedtimes. We want Sova Stories to work well for everyone, including parents and caregivers who use assistive technology.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across our website, account pages and stories. We're a small team and still growing, so we test as we build and fix problems as soon as we find them.
What we've built in
- Adjustable story text. Make the words bigger or smaller in the story reader, and your choice is remembered. Browser and phone zoom work too.
- Your choice of format. Read stories on screen, in an email, by text-message link, or as a printable page.
- Keyboard friendly. Menus, forms, buttons and dialogs can be used without a mouse, with visible focus outlines.
- Screen reader support. Images have text descriptions, form fields have labels, and errors are announced.
- Readable design. Clear fonts, strong color contrast, and layouts that work on phones, tablets and computers.
- Calm motion. We keep animation to a minimum and respect your device's "reduce motion" setting.
- Plain language. We try to write simply and avoid jargon.
Known limitations
- Printable story pages are designed for paper. If you use a screen reader, the on-screen story in the reader or your email will work best.
- Billing pages are run by our payment provider, Stripe, which maintains its own accessibility standards.
